This is Misty. She's 13 years old. She's the last of the three animals still with us that we transported from Hawaii to Alabama.
Below are some fun facts about me you just might find interesting:
I love classic movies – I watch Turner Classic Movies on a regular basis. Guilty pleasure: "Walk in the Clouds"
I love food and, consequently, have always struggled with my weight. I especially love pasta, chips, cookies – all those great, tasty carbs! I can cook, but I prefer not to.
I have a bachelor's degree in history from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York and an MBA from the University of Hawaii.
I volunteered and worked at The Haven, in Fairhope Alabama for ten years. I no longer work there, but my camera still volunteers there once a week for photos of their available pets as well as occasional events. Go here to see some of the pets I have photographed for them as well as for other charity events.
I have learned photography tips from accomplished pet photographers. Most recently I visited Teresa Berg in Dallas, Texas and Illona Haus, owner of Scruffy Dog Photography in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. I always sign up for online webinars on running a business, photography tips, and other pertinent topics.
I recently decided to be daring and had my hairdresser put color streaks in my hair. Ask my friends, they will tell you that for me, this is DARING!
For the past 17 years, I have made my pets' food. They are all thriving!
This is Bonnie. She's a Westie and about 11-12 years old. She's deathly afraid of the camera. She was busy watching my husband eat, so I was able to sneak in this iPhone picture.

This is Chloe - also above with me. She's about 4 1/2 years old and the newest member of the family. She's my shadow, she's my heart, and she's my muse.
This is Lana. She's 9 years old and a foster failure.
ABOUT KATHIE ONO
I’ve lived in Syracuse, New York; Honolulu, Hawaii; and now, Fairhope, Alabama. I don’t consider myself a world traveler by any means. I always seem to plant roots wherever I am and find “where I am” to be sufficient. When my husband and I moved into our first home in Honolulu, I started getting pets. Soon, at my peak, I had 3 dogs and 5 cats. It was around this time that my husband and I moved temporarily to Palo Alto, California for him to await a liver transplant. Fortunately, my sister-in-law and several close friends took care of our pets while we were gone. It was a stressful time, but we made it through and my husband is still here, strong and healthy.
